8 unique forests that look like they’re from an alien planet
In my impression, the forest is composed of many straight, lush trees, nothing special. But the world is so big and full of wonders! There are also some special forests in the world. Some of them have curved trunks at the bottom, some have thick trunks that can store food and water, and some trees grow in water. What's even stranger is that they have rainbow-colored bark. You must be very curious, so let’s take a look!
Madagascar? Baobab Boulevard
When the baobab fruits are ripe, monkeys will gather in groups to pick the fruits, hence the name "baobab tree". The trunk of the baobab tree is thick but light and soft. It has no wood utilization value, but it can be used as a storage room to store a large amount of water and food. Interestingly, local residents often hollow out tree trunks and move them in, forming a very unique natural "cottage".

Kazakhstan Forest Lake
Kazakhstan Forest Lake was formed by a landslide caused by the 1911 earthquake. It is 400 meters long, with a maximum depth of 30 meters and an altitude of 2,000 meters. Snow Ridge Spruce was submerged in the water, with bare trunks exposed above the water. On the surface of the water are spruce trees that are more than 100 years old, but underwater is a different picture. The water is very cold due to the high altitude, but there are still branches and needles under the water. The water often changes color, a change caused by centuries-old lime and other minerals at the bottom.

Socotra Island Dragon's Blood Forest
Dracaena and desert rose are very unique plants in Socotra. The dense crown of the dracaena resembles an inverted umbrella, which can provide enough shade to reduce evaporation and protect the seeds in the shade, so they generally grow densely. The dragon's blood tree is an evergreen tree. It is called the dragon's blood tree because of the deep red color of its sap. The thick and short appearance of the desert rose is very consistent with the image of alien creatures. The "Desert Rose" that appears on the cliff is quite special. It grows directly into the stone without the need for soil. The bark is as shiny as rubber, and beautiful pink flowers grow on the top of the branches.

Poland? Crooked Forest
The Crooked Forest in western Poland, most of the trees were planted in the 1930s. Most trees grow parallel to the ground at first, but after a certain period of time, they turn 90 degrees and grow upward, so it is locally called the Crooked Forest. It is generally believed that certain tools or techniques are used to make trees grow like this, but why it becomes like this, the method and motivation are still a mystery.

Maui Island Rainbow Eucalyptus Forest
There is a special tree on Maui Island in Hawaii, the Rainbow Eucalyptus. It is called rainbow eucalyptus because of the many colors of its bark. Its bark changes color over time. The newly shed outer bark is replaced by bright green inner bark. As time goes by, the bark gradually changes color, from bright green to blue to purple, etc. The different colors represent the different ages of the bark.

Ili Apricot Valley, China
Every year, these hills turn into a sea of pink and white flowers. As the largest apricot orchard in Xinjiang, this flower represents the beginning of the fruit season, and also makes Apricot Valley a rare wonderland in the world.

Brazil Garbo Fruit Forest
At first glance, the fruits covering these trees look a little scary. These are garbo fruits, and the fruit grows whole along the trunk of the tree. Because the fruit shape and flavor are similar to grapes, it is known as the delicious "tropical grape". In addition to being eaten raw, fresh fruits can also be made into preserves, jams and Garbo fruit wine with excellent flavor.

Namibia Dede Frei Forest
This incredible "forest" is every nature photographer's dream. The bright orange dunes and charred black trees make this place look like a beautiful painting. After the trees were exposed to heavy rains about 900 years ago, the trees died soon after the rain evaporated. The dry climate prevented the trees from rotting, but they gradually darkened due to centuries of sunlight.
